In the realm of the Zahulian Empire, a dominion forged through conquest and diplomacy by the Zahulian people, who fled infernal horrors haunting their own lands, a diverse tapestry of cultures now weaves the fabric of this continent. With years gone by, the blend of the indigenous populace and the conquerors has brought about a remarkable fusion, yet the transformation remains a work in progress. Amidst this era of change, a faction exploits the turmoil born of transition. The self fashioned “Aurum Nexus Trading Company”, hidden behind a façade of legitimacy, manipulates the chaos to its advantage, greasing palms to shroud its reprehensible dealings.
You, the heroes of this story - are steadfast but lowly workers of this very company. Your seemingly ordinary roles within this enterprise sustains your families and loved ones. Bound by inexplicable ties and entangled circumstances, you’re confined to this job despite the poor compensation, your bosses’ dubious conduct, and the enigmatic shadows looming around your workplace. A fateful juncture arrives, where an unsettling request crosses your path – one that shakes your moral core.
As you stand at these crossroads - you are presented with an opportunity to rise above your station to a higher purpose or to suffer in your servile mediocrity. The choices you make this day shape destinies, but the road ahead is fraught with danger and risk. The time for complacency has ended, and the time for heroes has begun.
This is meant to be an intense story driven D&D adventure and players will experience immersive role-play with their characters and NPCs, combat with enemies - evil and fantastical, explore dangerous areas, solve puzzles to avoid traps and in the end - try to achieve something noble and heroic.
I intend to start the session with some questions for the players to help define their characters and the events of the game.
