As the seasons change, it is time once more for Melodia’s world-famous annual Battle of the Bards, where performing troupes from across the land arrive hoping to put on the show of a lifetime. What the leadership of the town lacks in innovative naming ability, they have in magic and money - the winners are promised riches, fame, and a legendary magical artifact called the Echoing Lute, said to amplify any bard’s performance to supernatural levels.
You and your spunky group are up-and-coming musicians here to show off your skills and wow the crowds. Will you be able to navigate the treacherous shoals of cut-throat competition? Can you keep yourselves safe until the final performance and then put on the show to end all shows?
This is a moderately beginner-friendly game at Level 3 involving a combination of roleplay, combat and problem-solving. Combat scenarios will depend on player choices!
Characters will be created at the table so some knowledge of D&D rules will help (but is not necessary). Knowledge and familiarity of boybands, girl groups, rock bands etc. is a plus! Bring your favourite musicians/ groups as inspiration.
About the DM: Hello! I’m Thor. I have been playing DnD for several years now and DMing for about half that time. I am a big fan of collaborative storytelling and do not allow fully evil characters at my table. Apart from that, I am a believer in the rule of cool and have been known to allow the unexpected!
