After many years of talking about this, we’re finally starting a Magic: The Gathering meetup. If you are curious about this massively popular card game, or are already a player looking to find others to play with in-person, this is for you!
For people who’ve never played before:
This is designed for new players to explore the game. We’ll teach you the rules, and will pair up new players with each other. We’ll be playing the with 40-card decks, using the Jumpstart 2022 set - which is a great way to learn the game without too much time on deck building.
For experienced players players
We have a few premade standard (60 card) decks to play, as well a few commander decks.
You are welcome to bring your own deck, but please talk to @Leneyxis/@Ishan1310 or post on the #magic-the-gathering-meetup channel on our discord.
Important: This is a light, friendly environment for players to explore the game and meet the community - it is not a competitive event. Be helpful, and expect people to make mistakes.
Future events
We aren’t sure how often we’ll be doing this yet, the idea was to start with a few and see how many people are interested, and how the event goes. If there is enough interest we’ll do this more frequently.
