Waterdeep, the City of Splendors and Jewel of the Sword Coast! This city is figuratively built atop thousands of years of history, and literally built atop the thousands-years-old mega-dungeon Undermountain.
You are a party of friends (?) who’ve come to the city to escape one thing or another, and a benign trip to a famous tavern quickly unravels into a web of politics, intrigue, and the reason behind the months-long spell of drought to the surrounding fields that feed the city.
Ideal for totally-new-to-D&D players. There is less emphasis on classes/races/abilities, and more about understanding what goes into a TTRPG and the pillars of most role playing games - combat , social interaction, and exploration.
