Akin to opening your eyes, the darkness fades into a pale blue. Massive trees all around. The surrounding forest is so dense that only shards of moonlight make it to the ground. As you get closer, a speck of moonlight reveals bright red leaves on the ground.
Along the winding path, a hooded figure moves in delicate steps. They whisper something, a name perhaps, too faint to hear. They keep looking behind them. Are they being followed?
A few more steps forward and they’re in front of another massive tree. But this one looks different. The leaves are no longer red, but look white. It’s not just the leaves, the tree, and even the ground looks white. As if someone sprinkled salt all over the area.
Their green eyes widen in the dark. They whisper the name once more, but they’re not expecting an answer this time. Another figure is on the ground, slumped against the thick roots, covered in the same white surrounding them. Everything has become darker. Has the moon disappeared behind the clouds? Did something move behind those trees? Is the hair on the back of your neck starting to stand up?

Candela Obscura is a horror tabletop roleplaying game about occult investigators hunting down the dangerous supernatural forces making incursions into a world very much like your own.
You take up the role of a newly formed Circle member. You can be the Face or Muscle of the group, a Scholar or a Slink, or maybe a touch of Weird is what’s best suited for this paranormal secret society.
This is a beginner friendly one-shot with elements of investigation, paranormal, and social interaction. The combat in Candela Obscura tends to be less tactical, and more organic and story-driven. Characters will be created at the table. Please feel free to reach out if you’ve any questions
